Project overview
Westlink Cleaning Services came to us after their website had been compromised. Malicious code had been injected across the files and database, and attackers had a way back in. We ran a full recovery, removed the infection at the source and hardened the site so it would stay clean.
Who we worked with
Westlink Cleaning Services is an Australian cleaning company that relies on its website to win enquiries and book jobs. For a service business, the site is the front door, so a hacked website does not just create a technical problem, it puts trust and revenue on the line.
What stood in the way
The site was actively infected. Malicious scripts were running inside the codebase, backdoors gave attackers ongoing remote access, and the integrity of both the files and the database was in question. Left alone, the infection risked search blacklisting, browser warnings and lost customer confidence.
The work we delivered
We carried out a complete website recovery. That meant auditing every file and database table, removing all injected malicious code, closing the backdoors that allowed remote access, patching the weaknesses behind the breach and restoring the site to a clean, stable state. We then hardened it to stop a repeat.
Our approach, step by step
We started with a forensic sweep of the file system and database to map exactly where the infection lived and how it got in. After isolating and removing every malicious payload, we revoked compromised access, reset credentials and tightened user permissions. We patched outdated components, added access controls and put monitoring in place so any future anomaly is caught early rather than after the damage is done.
Inside the build
What we shipped
Full malware removal
Identified and stripped every piece of injected malicious code from files and the database.
Remote access lockdown
Closed backdoors, reset credentials and revoked all unauthorised access.
Vulnerability patching
Fixed the weaknesses that allowed the compromise in the first place.
Security hardening
Strengthened access controls, permissions and protective configurations.
Monitoring in place
Returned the site to a clean, fast state with safeguards watching for new threats.
Westlink Cleaning Services is back online on a clean, secure website that loads fast and is free of malware. With the backdoors closed and monitoring active, the team can focus on winning work again instead of firefighting a breach.
